Wire Guidance
CoGri Middle East News

Wire Guidance

CoGri Middle East provides a full wire guidance installation service for the guidance of Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) trucks or Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems.

When deciding to go to a VNA storage set up, the customer is presented with a choice of rail or wire guidance for control of the Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) when in the aisle. When operating on a suitable quality floor wire guidance has many advantages:

Wire Guidance Advantages

  • Eliminates bottom rack beam.
  • Easier cleaning under racking.
  • Less damage to MHE due to banking into rails at aisle start.
  • High volume or pick items can be placed by pallet truck.
  • Lower long term maintenance costs on aisle guidance.

MHE vehicles are fitted at the factory with sensors, one on each end of the truck; these are fixed to a control system that locks the steering when in the aisle. These sensors pick up a low frequency signal from a wire installed in the floor.
